Contribute new and gently used books!
If you have new or like-new used children’s books — from pre-K to middle school — please let us know via the links below. We will pick them up and deliver them to deserving children/families who are hungry for books to read! Donations are vetted for condition and packaged by age or type for distribution. We take everything from board books to middle grade novels. No textbooks, please!
We may give them to RIF NOVA-supported schools that request additional books, to other Title 1 schools, or to programs helping underserved children throughout Northern Virginia — in order to allow children to have even more books in their home libraries. We may feature them at community events or book fairs or sales to generate interest in books and reading. As of summer 2026, we have collected over 60,000 new and previously loved books to share with local children. Thank you!

TO DONATE BOOKS — If you have new or like-new gently used books to give or if you would like to set up a book drive to collect books for RIF NOVA, please click this link for details on how to do so! Please, no textbooks.
TO REQUEST BOOKS — While the primary focus of RIF NOVA is to raise funds to provide new books for 30+ schools and sites throughout Northern Virginia, our new/gently used Donated Books program is allowing to share book love with other community partners. If you are a non-profit organization or school needing books for the children in your programs, we will try to help. Click here for information about how to GET BOOKS!
One of our younger book donors is pictured. In donating her collection, she wrote: “I hope whoever gets my books enjoys them very much.” We are very grateful to all who share this vital book resource so others may read!
