OUR SUPPORTERS
RIF NOVA is grateful for the generosity of our supporters who believe in the work we do to motivate children to read. Their ongoing investment in RIF NOVA allows us to give free books to thousands of children in Northern Virginia each academic year.
If your business, nonprofit, foundation, or you -- as an individual -- would like to become an ongoing, sustaining partner, please contact us at [email protected]. We would love your help and support on behalf of children's literacy in Northern Virginia. RIF NOVA is a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are 100% tax deductible as allowed by law. Some of our key supporters are listed below.

Reading is Fundamental of Northern Virginia is one of seven nonprofits awarded a 2025 Cox Charities Community Grant in recognition of our work to bring free books to Northern Virginia children! We are grateful to Cox Charities and Cox employees for this generous support of children and reading. Kathryn Falk, Market Vice President, Cox Communications, announced the 2025 recipients at a special grant announcement at the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors meeting in late October 2025. RIF NOVA president Sarah Bohn (shown in white sweater) accepted the grant.
Taste of the South is a nonprofit that celebrates 12 southern states -- including Virginia -- with an annual grand gala dinner and dancing. Each year, TOTS picks a theme and picks a state charity for its fundraising. The 2025 theme was "Children's Literacy." And the nonprofit for Virginia? Yes! RIF NOVA! The event was held in July 2025 at the Anthem in Washington, D.C. and featured food and delights from each state. Virginia's featured offerings included Virginia country ham and other delights from Virginia restaurants. We are grateful to TOTS for its generous donation and for recognizing the work we do to bring books to children.
At ceremonies in October 2025, RIF NOVA's Justina Johnson accepted a grant from The Giving Circle of Heritage Hunt, Inc., the second grant from this generous circle. Justina noted the grant will be used to supply a second book each for students in RIF NOVA-supported Prince William County schools. As part of her presentation, Justina showed photos from several RIF NOVA book distributions. We are grateful for the generosity of this community organization.
Springfield Golf and Country Club's women's tennis members came together in May 2025 for a Ladies Night Out to support RIF NOVA. The night included a "white elephant" book exchange, book charades, a raffle, and tables of donated NEW books to be "sponsored" to give to children in the RIF NOVA community. Bookmarks were placed in each sponsored book with encouraging notations about the fun of reading! A few members came dressed as book characters, including (ahem) Eloise and Waldo!
Jewelry store Kendra Scott in the Mosaic District reached out to RIF NOVA to support our efforts to raise funds for books for Northern Virginia schools. During an in-store event in April 2025, Clifford helped bring in the customers to purchase gifts for graduations, Mother's Day, and birthdays. Twenty percent of all sales went to RIF NOVA and will contribute to the purchase of almost 200 books for our Books for Keeps program. We are grateful for this community collaboration that sparkled in every way possible!
