While the RIF of NOVA 2020 appeal -- Votes for Women! Votes for Books! -- has ended, it's still a good time to offer some ideas about books for children on the topics of women's suffrage, voting rights, and elections and election history.
Many of the books cited below celebrate the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. While that was an important victory, it would take decades more of protest and hard work to expand the franchise to Black women and other women of color. The fight for full voter enfranchisement continues to this day.
